The Toy Box

It wasn't always called a toybox. I called it a shop when I was pondering the project but once it went from concept to physical reality my wife started calling it my toybox and the name kind of stuck.

My name is Jim and I'm 52 years old and I have a new toybox. Many of you need one of these too. Some of you know it, others don't. Some will never have one but will try to play with some of the toys in my box and this blog is for all of you. Maybe it will help you with some of your project, maybe it will give you some ideas.

Here's how it started...

After spending decades (plural) raising two kids, I finished paying for things like college and weddings and reached a place in my life where I've got a little more money and a little more time that I used to have. The wife and I talked it over and agreed that this might be an OK time for me to get a toybox.

My toybox is 20 feet wide, 30 feet deep and the lid is 16' tall at the center point. My toys allow me to do wood working, metal working and auto repair projects. The box has an elevator, over a hundred gallons of air compressor, lots of storage and a long list of projects.

I hope you find it valuable to read (and participate in) this blog.
